Anne Curtis’ high-slit gown puts ‘ASAP 18’ under investigation by MTRCB

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has already spoke up about the controversial birthday production number of Anne Curtis in ASAP 18 last Sunday, February 24.

In a series of messages posted on Twitter, MTRCB summons the ABS-CBN Sunday musical variety show over the provocative Rihanna-inspired number where Anne’s outfit became the issue.

MTRCB tweeted:

“MTRCB summons ASAP to gender-sensitivity investigation over alleged provocative outfit of one of its stars last Sunday.”

“MTRCB to investigate ASAP over provocative number and outfit of one of the show's performers last Sunday.”

“Citing its Memo of Understanding w/ABS-CBN, et al to ensure gender-sensitivity, MTRCB summons ASAP over provocative number.”

“On the ASAP issue, MTRCB shall always endeavor to give all concerned the chance to be heard.”

The Princess of All Media wore a black dress with a sky high slit that went up to her left waist. Questions as to whether she was wearing an underwear became a hot topic on the internet after that, as a screenshot from her performance video with a white square censoring her alleged private part began circulating on the internet.

Anne has already clarified the ‘no underwear’ issue on Twitter saying she was “100% protected” when she did the number.

More recently, Anne posted on Instagram a photo of her costume showing that it was really a two-piece outfit. One was a tanga and the other one was a skirt with the high slit.

The photo was captioned: “TAAAADAAA! I present to you the controversial @boomita outfit I wore for my birthday number on ASAP. As you can see we have a bodysuit with a hidden tangga to make way for the sky high slit skirt. It is made out of 2 pieces. In fact the "tangga" is made out of swimsuit material which Boom Sason is also known for making. I was completely protected. It may have seemed like a wardrobe malfunction to many but I can assure you, after making the mistake of not securing myself once I wouldn't let that happen to me again. :) So to settle all your minds I just had to post this. Thank you to everyone that was concerned! To everyone that's trying to make an issue out of it! Thank you! ABSCBN news just told me its their most clicked on video on their site ever! Just relax everyone! Wearing a tangga is no newbie in the industry! It's been around since the 80's :)”

Anne also gave reference to her wardrobe malfunction in ASAP back in 2010 where her bikini top accidentally got out of place, saying she won’t let that happen again.

“I’ve already had my fair share of wardrobe malfunction,” she told abs-cbnnews.com. “I think I’ve learned from that lesson.”
