Regine Velasquez gave her rendition of Les Miserables’ I Dreamed A Dream at last night’s Mall of Asia Arena concert with husband Ogie Alcasid and ex-couple Martin Nievera and Pops Fernandez titled ‘Foursome.’
The Valentine concert was well-attended, and while we cannot compare Regine’s version of the song to that of Ruthie Henshall’s or Lea Salonga’s who both played the role of Fantine really well, the songbird gave justice to the song by singing from her heart.
I liked the raspiness of her voice in some parts as Ruthie also expertly do that to convey feelings. Little did I know that the harshness in Regine’s voice was due to acid reflux.
