Ilocos Sur was shook by a magnitude 4.7 earthquake on Monday evening, February 4, 2013. It happened barely six hours after a magnitude 4.5 quake hit Baguio City.
The Ilocos Sur tremblor took place at exactly 8:54:40pm according to the bulletin posted by Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). Its epicenter was traced 23 kilometers (km) northwest of Sinait.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 33 km. Sinait felt it at Intensity 2.
Just like the Baguio City earthquake, no aftershock nor damage was expected.
