‘It Takes A Man And A Woman’ earns P201-M in 8 days; international screening sched revealed

It Takes A Man And A Woman starring John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo has already earned P201-million after just eight days of showing. The movie is the third and final installment to the love story of Laida (Sarah) and Miggy (John Lloyd) which moviegoers loved in the previous blockbusters A Very Special Love and You Changed My Life.

The good news was revealed this morning over Twitter by Roxy Liquigan, Star Cinema’s PR executive. He tweeted: “P201 million na!!!:):):) #ItTakesAmanAndaWoman”

Meanwhile, John Lloyd thanked everyone who have watched the movie in ABS-CBN’s Sunday musical variety show ASAP 18.

“Thank you very much,” the Kapamilya actor said. “Maraming, maraming salamat po talaga. Thank you ASAP for giving me the chance na makapagpasalamat sa lahat ng mga nakapanood na. Sa lahat ng mga hindi pa nakakapanood, please po huwag niyo palampasin.”

It Takes A Man And A Woman is poised to exceed the box-office gross of You Changed My Life which earned P225.2 million in 2009. A Very Special Love, meanwhile, was also a box-office hit with a total gross of P179.3 in 2008.

The movie is also being shown in Guam. It opened at the Micronesia Mall on March 30, the same date it opened in the Philippines, and will run until April 15.

The U.S. and Canada screening will be from April 12 to 25, so Pinoys will have a chance to catch it for two weeks. It will be shown in 28 theaters across the U.S. and in 13 theaters in different cities in Canada. Check out the list below.
