Joseph Bitangcol tells reason why he was caught sleeping half naked inside his car

Joseph Bitangcol was photographed last week sleeping inside his car, half naked.

But the actor recently denied the rumors that he was high on drugs at the time he was seen sleeping alone inside his vehicle that was parked along Marcos Highway.

In his interview that aired last Saturday in Startalk, he told host Lolit Solis why he decided to park that time and sleep inside his car.

“Galing po ako ng biyahe, sa Isabela,” said the actor who was once the on and off camera love team of Sandara Park. “8 hours drive pero before pa no’n galing po akong shoot ng indie film, so medyo dire-diretso po. Pero ‘yun nga ‘yung nakita nila kasi, opo medyo nakainom ako, then dumaan pa ako nung birthday ng friend ko. Pero sobrang konti lang.”

Joseph also said that he parked because he wanted to buy drinking water but he fell asleep before he could even get out of the car.

“Sa sobrang pagod ho. Parang nag-decide ako na mag-park dito balak kong bumili ng tubig, bago ako makabili nakatulog po ako bigla,” he said.

He also referred to his previous car accident as the reason why he decided to just stop and rest when he got tired. In 2011, Joseph figured in a car accident with his friends that almost caused him his life.

“That time po kasi ang hirap na mag-risk na ibiyahe pa dahil ‘yun nga parang delikado natakot na rin ‘yung nangyari sa ‘kin before kaya itinabi ko na muna ‘yung kotse ko kahit alam kong hindi po gano’n ka-safe ‘yung lugar. Ni-lock ko na lang kotse ko.”

But why was he half naked while sleeping in his car along Marcos highway? He reasoned that he shed some pieces of clothing because he thought he was already in his house.

“Akala ko nasa bahay na ‘ko pero hindi pa pala ako nakauwi nasa ibang lugar ako nag-park,” he said. “Sana wala ngang nag-picture, kumuha, dahil nakakatakot baka lumabas nga baka ano’ng isipin ng tao.”

Joseph also admitted that the MMDAs brought him home. He refused at first because he has already rested and could drive, but they wanted to make sure he would get home safely.

When asked if he was high on drugs at the time of the incident, Joseph couldn’t help but laugh at the question. “Hindi po,” he answered.
