“Juan Dela Cruz” takes primetime TV by storm

The Coco Martin-starrer Juan Dela Cruz had a very successful pilot episode on Monday, February 4, 2013.

According to Kantar Media, the new primetime series got the highest national television rating that day with 36.5%, beating rival programs in other channels and even its fellow Kapamilya show Ina Kapatid Anak which was a constant leader in the national ratings.

Juan Dela Cruz instantly captured the hearts of the televiewers, to think that Coco Martin was not yet seen in the pilot episode. The story’s premise that includes aswang and tagapagbantay was interesting enough to make it number one on its first day.

Aside from Coco, also in the cast are Albert Martinez, ZsaZsa Padilla, Erich Gonzales, Joel Torre, Gina Pareño, Lotlot de Leon, William Lorenzo, Lilia Cuntapay, Neil Coleta, Arron Villaflor, John Medina, Louise Abuel, MC, and Eddie Garcia, with the special participation of Jaime Fabregas and child wonders Izzy Canillo and Alyanna Angeles. It is under the direction of Malu Sevilla and Avel Sunpongco.

Juan Dela Cruz airs weeknights after TV Patrol on ABS-CBNs Primetime Bida.
