Travel back in time to the American Civil War via Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, set to be shown in the Philippines on February 20, 2013.
The movie centers on the life of Abraham Lincoln during his term as the president of the U.S. during one of the hardest periods in American history, the Civil War.
Lincoln is also known as the author of the Emancipation Proclamation which had a serious effect towards the destruction of slavery in the U.S.
Daniel Day-Lewis plays the role of Abraham Lincoln in this period movie produced by Spielberg himself and Kathleen Kennedy. Also in the cast are Sally Field as First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Robert Todd Lincoln, Gulliver McGrath as Tad Lincoln, Tommy Lee Jones as Thaddeus Stevens, David Strathairn as William Seward, James Spader as William N. Bilboe, Hal Holbrook as Francis Preston Blair, and Jackie Earle Haley as Alexander H. Stephens.
As with any other Steven Spielberg film, Lincoln is expected to be a box-office hit when it is shown. Check out the trailer below.
