Cristine Reyes and Rayver Cruz finally admitted that the persisting rumors regarding their breakup were indeed true.
In an interview with Boy Abunda that was aired in The Buzz on January 13th, the ex-couple revealed that the split happened last year but they decided to hide it to avoid making it controversial.
“Dinecide namin na no’ng naghiwalay kami na i-discreet na lang na wag na lang maingay,” Rayver said.
In the end, however, they had to give a joint statement about the breakup because more and more people notice the real standing of their relationship. “Sa huli kasi ang dami nang nakakahalata,” he added.
The controversies surrounding the two of them played a big role in the failure of their relationship but Cristine said they also wanted to focus on their respective careers.
"Siguro nga kasi bata pa kami pareho e,” the beautiful actress said. “Gusto muna naming mag-focus sa work."
The two, however, have remained good friends despite what happened. “Ang maganda dito okay kami dahil magkaibigan kami,” Rayver said. “Parte na ‘yan ng buhay ko hanggang sa magtagal.”
Likewise, Cristine also promised she will be there for Rayver anytime. “Sobrang salamat sa lahat and andito din lang ako palagi para sa 'yo,” she said.
And with regards to the rumors linking Cristine to the now TV5 actor Derek Ramsay, the Kapamilya actress denied it.
“Siguro po kasi nakikita nila kami sa labas,” Cristine said, also adding that she, along with Rayver and their other friends, go to Derek’s house to hangout. And that’s even during the time when the Kidlat actor was still in relationship with Angelica Panganiban.
But is Derek pursuing her?
“Hindi s’ya nanliligaw sa akin,” Cristine answered.
