TV5 releases statement on Dolphy’s death

TV5, the last network that Dolphy signed contract with, has released a statement on the death of the Comedy King.

The statement reads:

The Management and Staff of TV5 join the whole nation in mourning the passing of our most cherished colleague and one of showbiz’ most revered icons, Dolphy. For us in TV5, Mang Dolphy forever lives as the symbol of the indomitable joyful spirit of the Filipino. May the legacy of his laughter sustain us through our trials and triumphs as a people.

Dolphy passed away on July 10, 2012 at the Makati Medical Center. Multiple organ failure was the recorded cause of death.

He was confined in the hospital for pneumonia, a complication of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease which he was diagnosed with in 2009.
