The top 5 contestants in the Over 25’s and Girls categories performed in tonight’s episode of The X Factor Philippines.
The Over 25’s sang in front of their mentor Pilita Corales and guest judge Rico J. Puno. Paulo Castro, whose work is fashion-inclined, was more flamboyant this time with the hair and the hat and he showcased his falsetto through South Border’s Kahit Kailan and both Pilita and Rico agreed that he already has a packaging.
Another Over 25 contestant was Modesto Taran who sang Besa Me Mucho. While he has a good singing voice, Pilita found his Spanish diction a little off. He shouldn’t have sung a Spanish song in front of someone who’s an 80% Spanish.
Charice Pempengco and her guest judge Cheesa Laureta listened to the girls in Bellevue Manila. The top 5 all did great but Charice found KZ Tandingan not in her element. Although she did a great job with her song, Charice thought “it’s not her.”
The Boys and the Groups will perform in tomorrow’s episode. The Boys are handled by Martin Nievera and he has Arnel Pineda to help him choose his top 3.
The Groups, meanwhile, went to Gary Valenciano who has Jed Madela as guest judge.
Each category’s top 3 will also be revealed tomorrow. They will make up the top 12 who will move on to the live shows.
And that said, The X Factor Philippines live shows will soon conquer weekend primetime television.
