Lady Gaga is currently filming Machete Kills, the movie which marks her acting debut.
The American singer revealed the news to the little monsters, a term she calls her worldwide fans, through her official Facebook page.
“Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress ln the amazing MACHETE KILLS BY Robert Rodriguez IM SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane.”
Machete Kills is set to be shown in 2013. The Robert Rodriguez-helmed action movie follows Machete who was hired by the U.S. government to battle his way through Mexico and stop an arms dealer from launching a weapon into space.
The movie is topbilled by Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara and Mel Gibson. Jessica Alba and Vanessa Hudgens are also in the cast.
Lady Gaga will be playing the role of La Chameleon, who, judging from the character poster above, is a very interesting character and a fabulous one at that.
Lady Gaga was recently named the fourth highest-earning celebrity in the list released by Forbes. Expect her rank in the list to go higher next year with the release of this movie.
Seems like musicians going into acting is a trend these days. Rihanna recently made her acting debut by playing Petty Officer Cora Raikes in the movie Battleship which earned her a Teen Choice Award for Choice Breakout in a Movie. Katy Perry also released Katy Perry: Part Of Me 3D movie, although it’s more of a documentary of her life on and off-stage.
