Lovi Poe plays a nurse in the last part of the three-part musical titled Kama, one of the short films produced by Benchingko Films for Bench’s 25th anniversary.
The third part of the short film is titled Kamanyakan where Lovi plays opposite veteran stage and TV actor Lou Veloso. Lou plays the role of an old and ill patient who has a not-so-wholesome desire for his nurse played by Lovi.
The first part of the musical is titled Kamachohan. It tells story of two gay men who are both waiting on who will make the first move. The second part, meanwhile, is titled Kamalasan and it stars a man who regrets having married his wife, and having such mother-in-law in the process.
The short film tells a lot of story in a funny way. The last part, when all the actors got together in a song, made us want to give it a standing ovation.
Gabs Santos and Allan Ibañez played the two gays in the first part. The husband in the second part was played Jake Macapagal, while the wife was played by Marinella Oania and the mother-in-law was Linda Gonzales.
Borgy Torre directed the short film from the script written by Marci Reyes.
Here’s Benchingko Films’ Kama:
A three-part musical where the bed takes centerstage in different emotional entanglements. Kamanyakan is set in a hospital room where the patient, a skirt-chasing geezer, preys on a sexy nurse played by Lovi Poe. Kamachohan is set in a bedroom where two gay lovers, while sharing a bed, hesitate and fumble in their first sexual encounter. Kamalasan is about the travails of a married man who shares his bed with a wife he hates and a mother-in-law he abhors.
