Broadcast journalist Arnold Clavio made a public statement on Thursday after receiving harsh feedback from those who were able to watch his interview with the lawyer of Janet Lim Napoles on Tuesday.
He came across to viewers as rude, with words like “pansira ka ng araw” and “tatawa-tawa ka pa” towards Villamor. He even became a trending topic on Twitter as a lot of netizens found him unprofessional.

In line with this, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has notified the management of Unang Hirit, the morning show where the interview was aired, of a November 11 meeting with regards to the “alarming language and scenes” in its November 5 episode.
“’Yung segment na ito na onscreen conversation with a lawyer, per their own records ay public affairs,” MTRCB chairman Atty. Eugenio Villareal told ABS-CBN News. “E, naka-embed 'yan doon sa programang [Unang Hirit]. Certainly, may posibilidad always na may mga batang manonood na baka mapulot ito at cause of concern para sa atin 'yan.”
He also mentioned that they will be giving an example of how to talk to a guest in a Parental Guidance (PG) program.
“Kailangang may respeto kahit kanino man. Dahil nga ang binigay na rating dito ay PG, ibig sabihin niyan, alam nating may batang manonood. At 'yung ibibigay nating ehemplo sa kanila sa... ay kung paano tayo nakikipag-usap sa nagiging guest o nai-interview.
"And we're here actually to help dahil magandang pag-usapan na ito dahil ang segment ay nasa kalagitnaan ng public affairs program. Paano natin maso-solve? At pa'no maiiwasan? At sinong responsable? Kaya nga nagpatawag kami ng isang conference kung saan maaring ilahad ang nangyari, pa'no ma-prevent, at best practices," he said.
On Thursday, his public statement asked for understanding if he said anything inappropriate during the Nov. 5 interview.
