Typhoon “Ferdie” update (10 AM, July 21)

Metro Manila is experiencing non-stop rains due to Typhoon Ferdie.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has been issuing hourly updates on the typhoon, and as of 10:00 AM today, July 21, Tropical Depression "FERDIE" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 130 km Northwest of Laoag City.

Synopsis:
At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression "FERDIE" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 80 km north northwest of Aparri, Cagayan (19.1°N, 121.4°E). Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 150 km west southwest of Laoag City (17.7°N, 119.0°E). Southwest Monsoon affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Forecast:
Extreme Northern Luzon, Abra, Ilocos Sur and Mountain Province will experience rains and gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. The rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with widespread rains which may trigger landslides and flashfloods while Visayas and Mindanao will be mostly cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the rest of the country and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
