The Philippines' Nonito Donaire won via unanimous decision over South Africa's Jeffrey Mathebula during the superbantamweight unification match on July 7 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
Donaire knocked Mathebula down with a left hook during the fourth round. The South African also got a cracked tooth during the eleventh round.
It was the first time Mathebula had a knock down in his career as a boxer.
The unification match was for Mathebula's International Boxing Federation (IBF) title and Donaire's World Boxing Organization (WBO) belt.
Doesn't things like this make you a prouder Pinoy?
