We won’t be hearing Jessica Sanchez sing power-ballads like the ones she belted out in American Idol 11. At least not on her debut album.
The Idol runner-up recently confirmed that she was working on her new album through a post on Twitter:
“At the stuuuuudio recording some amazing tracks for the upcoming album ;) <3.”
She recently signed a record deal with Interscope Records which was co-founded by the Idol resident mentor Jimmy Iovine.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the album has an “urban flavor” and without the type of ballads we heard the 16-year-old sing on AI. It is scheduled to be released in October.
Meanwhile, aside from talks of being in the season 4 of Glee, Jessica’s fans in the Philippines are all excited to see the Filipino-Mexican-American perform live. She will be visiting her mother’s country for the Philippine leg of American Idol Live! Tour 2012. It is happening on September 21 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Click here for more details.
