Gilas Pilipinas won the game against Hong Kong in the 27th FIBA Asia Men’s Basketball Championship on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena. The game ended with a score of 67-55 in favor of the Philippine national basketball team.
The win put Gilas Pilipinas at the top spot of Group E, beating Chinese Taipei and Qatar.
The Philippines had a rocky start, with Hong Kong registering as much as a 10-point lead during the first half.
They had their first lead in the game during the third quarter courtesy of Jeff Chan, 36-34. The team seemed to gain momentum as they didn’t allow Hong Kong to take the lead again until the end of the game.
