Gretchen Barretto recently caught the attention of netizens for exchanging heated words with user @marjoriekabit in the comments section of one of the actress’s recent Instagram posts.
Captioned “My tony aww he loves me,” it was the above photo that the Instagram user @marjoriekabit posted malicious comments on, which obviously got Gretchen’s ire.
The Instagram handle @marjoriekabit is malicious enough, anyway, suggesting that Marjorie Barretto, one of Gretchen’s sisters, is a mistress.
And if it would be based on facts like the number of kids and the name of the lawyer mentioned in the posts, one would be led to think that it was her youngest sister, Claudine Barretto, that the Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala actress exchanged heated comments with.
Here’s the conversation:
@marjoriekabit: “Gosh nakakahiya na kayo. Bkt hnd magwork si marj to support her children” which was immediately followed with “Get a life.”
@gretchenbarretto: does it seem like it matters to me it does seem like you are so envious that you need to make an account to bash us pity you, you keep stalking us. it is pure joy to know you are so consumed by our lives keep it going keep stalking we know who you are. Hope you take sometime to rest & take good care of your 2 kids & most of all hope you find time to get the mental help you need. Medical city or perhaps rehab. Peace be with you. why don't you meet with atty. topacio ?”
@marjoriekabit: “I will never get envious with your life. I'm contented with my life. I don't wanna be a mistress just to have a luxurious life. You and marj are so pathetic. Sending Claudia in bsm is a surprise because I know marj doesn't have enough money for the tuition there knowing that she doesn't have stable job. Unless she has a new sugar daddy. If you know what I mean.”
(Claudia is one of Marjorie’s kids, and BSM could mean British School Manila where tuition fees for Year 7-13 range from P344k to P400k per year.)
@gretchenbarretto: “you are contented with your life? Is this why you are stalking & bashing us you must be high again .you don't have a luxurious life because you pushed & fought everyone in abs Cbn. Why is it your business where Claudia goes to school unless you are dying in envy. You are playing holy when everyone knows all your politician boyfriends left you the minute they found out about your drug use & mental problem. Marjorie has businesses FYI she can afford to send the kids to school. You don't want to be a mistress ? The question is ... Does anyone at all want to be with you ? Your husband has filed for annulment already my dear. Wake up. With that kind of attitude you will have no one.”

@gretchenbarretto: “yes I am. Because tony is with us. He stood by me all through 19 years. ( that means something) Dominique means the world to tony & that says it all you are married only until the annulment is granted. Your husband is not with you. What tony has done for me , no married woman will ever experience. Do not put words in to Dominique mouth . I don't need the money of the Cojuangco. FYI - I have a career, I pay taxes . You don't. How many helpers have you put to jail for theft ( obviously lies) your made up stories. These helpers have families who are helpless . Is this what makes you happy? Seeing & knowing people are miserable .”

@gretchenbarretto: “It is pointless to argue with a mentally ill & drug addict. You go get help , maybe after then ill have the time for you.”
Meanwhile, someone with the handle @allthingsitalian asked: “I am not pro-anybody, but I am, like many of ur followers, just curious y u assume (obviously, based on ur responses) @marjoriekabit s ur sis that u r @ odds w/. Anybody can just create an account & write nasty things so u wil react. I thought u want ur daughter 2 remember that u didn't fight, but isn't what u r doing fighting, too, and worst part, u maybe barking @ the wrong tree. Just saying. PEACE.”
Gretchen answered it with: “I know for sure who the basher is simply because many months ago when we were still in good terms ( this basher said all these things to our faces) not only did she tell us these same things but even threatened to expose this. This basher texted me on my family cell phone with the same sentiments. I mention I will not fight but there comes a time when after so much hurt , you just must put a stop to it. I know no one who is so angry at both Marj ,her children , me & my daughter at this intensity. This basher is doing exactly what she said she will do. We refuse to take her insults & even hurt our children. thank you for asking. It is a valid concern on your part. Let us remind you that both @marjbarretto & I are very busy people. We take good care of our children & keep our home a happy & peaceful one. We to have careers & friends . We want peace & love. But enough is enough when the mocking goes beyond the limit.”
