Judy Ann Santos says it’s her decision to end ‘Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala’ earlier

Judy Ann Santos couldn’t help but get emotional during the recent presscon for Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala. The primetime series ends next week, after just two months of airing.

Juday, as she is fondly called in showbiz, admitted that it was really her decision to cut short the program.

“It was my decision to end the show earlier,” she was quoted by ABS-CBN News as saying. “But then again I appreciate that the management listened to what I have to say. Originally it should be moved to the fourth timeslot and I asked the management kung pwedeng third na muna para earlier kaming matatapos and I really appreciate the fact na pinagbigyan nila ako.”

The actress also revealed the fact that although she felt she was given due respect by ABS-CBN, there were some aspects in her series that still remain questionable to her.

She was given the title “Queen of Philippine Soap Opera” during the early promotions of the series. By “expectations,” she could mean that her series didn’t get the treatment due to a queen.

Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala premiered at the second timeslot (two slots after the evening news, TV Patrol). It was eventually moved to the third timeslot to give way to Muling Buksan Ang Puso. And as she revealed, it was to be moved again, this time to the fourth timeslot (rumors say to give way for Got To Believe), but she asked the management to retain it in the third.

But then it seems they couldn’t keep it in the third slot that long and perhaps that’s why Judy Ann decided to cut the series short.

Fourth timeslot means less viewers, which is also equivalent to low ratings. No one would want that, of course, more so than the show being moved twice away from the better slots.

And Judy Ann wants to end the series with high ratings.

“I was gone for two years and gusto kong mamaalam sa teleserye ng taas noo,” she said.

There are also rumors that she is considering a network transfer soon. She, however, said that she hasn’t decided on it yet.

Tao lang ako nasasaktan… so kailangan ko lang magpahinga,” she said.
