Gilas Pilipinas beats Jordan in 27th FIBA Asia

Gilas Pilipinas won against the Jordan national basketball team on Friday with a score of 77-71 in favor of the Philippine team. The win made their standing 2-0. They also beat Saudi Arabia on Thursday at the ongoing 27th FIBA Asia.

They had a rough start, though. They were behind 5 points at the end of the first half. During the third quarter, however, Gilas was able to take the lead courtesy of Gabe Norwood. The quarter ended at 57-47 in their favor.

Gilas had a 14-point lead early fourth quarter but Jordan was able to trim it down to 6 points.

Jordan, the former silver medalist of FIBA Asia, fought hard that the game ended with just a 6-point difference.

Gilas was more determined, though, with the cheers of the mostly Filipino crowd filling the Mall of Asia Arena, motivating them to win.

They will be facing Chinese Taipei tomorrow, Saturday, 8:30 PM at the MoA Arena. Chinese Taipei defeated Jordan on August 1 with the score of 90-87.
