The Philippines got 9 nominations in 7 categories at the 18th Asian Television Awards (2013). 7 of the nominations are from GMA-7, and 2 from ABS-CBN.
Marian Rivera and Lorna Tolentino are both vying for the Best Actress award for their roles in Temptation of Wife and Pahiram ng Sandali respectively. Michael V, on the other hand is nominated for Best Comedy Actor/Actress for Bubble Gang.
In the news category, the evening broadcast, 24 Oras, and the late night news, Saksi, are both in the list of Best News Programme nominees. Also, Reporter’s Notebook is nominated for Best Current Affairs Programme. All 3 are recognized for their Typhoon Pablo coverage.
Born Impact is also running for the Best Natural History or Wildlife Programme award.
ABS-CBN’s The X Factor Philippines is a Best Reality Show nominee, vying against India’s What Not To Wear and Singapore’s Hot Guys Who Cook Season 2.
Last but not the least is Kris Aquino who is nominated as Best Entertainment Presenter/Host for her morning show, Kris TV.
The 18th Asian TV Awards will reveal the winners during the awards ceremony on December 5 in Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.
