Aside from KZ Tandingan, another auditionee in last night’s episode of The X Factor Philippines that instantly became a viewers’ favorite was Michael Pangilinan.
Michael Pangilinan is just 16 but you can tell he’s already used to being on the stage.
The crowd cheered when he entered the X Factor stage and he charmed them even more when he told them he currently doesn’t have a girlfriend.
When asked what made him join X Factor, he said, “Para po matulungan ‘yong family ko.” He also admitted his desire to be in shobiz by saying, “Gusto kong maging isang artista and gusto kong makilala bilang isang singer.”
Michael sang Wonderful Tonight, an old song that we often hear the “fatherly types” sing in videoke bars. He, however, gave it a current sound. His voice reminded me the boybands of the 90s, and according to Charice, his voice demands attention.
He got four yeses from the judges, with Pilita even saying “I’ll see you na in the teleserye.”
Cute boys in vote-based reality shows have more edge than girls, so I guess it’s safe to predict Michael Pangilinan will make it far in this competition. Will you be voting for him?
