Maja Salvador launches debut album, hopes to patch things up with Kim Chiu

Maja Salvador is not just a dancer and an actress, she's now a recording artist as well.

Her debut album titled Believe was launched on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. It was produced by Ivory Music and Video and contains some original tracks. She even gave a sample, singing live for the people that attended the event.

Salvador said she's happy with her new-found talent, but she's aware that some people are not happy that she's now in the music industry.

"May mga hindi matanggap na nandito na ako sa industriyang ito," she said.

She added, though, that Gerald Anderson, her boyfriend, is very supportive of her career.

"Hinahayaan n'yang maging ako, ako," she said.

She also talked about her former best friend, Kim Chiu, during the album launch, saying she's positive they will be able to eventually patch things up.

"Believe lang tayo," she said, using the title of her album. "Kasi magkakasalubong at magkakasalubong kami. Isang taon na 'yon. Tao din lang kaming lahat na puwede kaming magpatawad at puwede kaming mag-start ulit, at puwede naming i-accept yung sitwasyon namin ngayon, ganun lang."

Salvador and Chiu had a falling out early last year when news came out that Salvador was dating Anderson, Chiu's former boyfriend.

Some people have raised eyebrows, however, on Salvador's talking about the Ikaw Lamang actress during the launch. They saw it as using Chiu's name to promote the album.

Believe will have a TV launch on ASAP 19 on Sunday, March 30.
