Gerald Anderson admits his mom was very close to ex-gf, Kim Chiu

Gerald Anderson admitted that his mom, Evangeline Opsima, was very close to his ex-girlfriend, Kim Chiu, during their time together.

During the March 13 press conference for Dyesebel where he plays the role of one of Anne Curtis' leading men, Anderson revealed the reason why Kim became a favorite of his mom.

"Kasi si Kim, napakabait na tao and sobrang naging close sila. Hindi magbabago yun," he said, as quoted by pep.ph.

But his mom's closeness with Kim shouldn't be compared with her relationship with Anderson's current girlfriend, Maja Salvador.

“Ay wala namang ganun, siyempre magkaiba naman sila,” the actor said.

There were recent rumors saying his mom doesn't like Salvador. Talks stemmed from his mom's phone interview via Buzz Ng Bayan last March 9 where she said she doesn't meddle with her son's love life but she hopes he'd always be careful.

Anderson quashed the rumors saying his mom is a strong woman and she really talks like that.

"No, of course not. Yung nanay ko, siguro alam ng lahat na ganun talaga siya. She’s a very strong woman, napaka-strong niya, at ganun talaga siya magsalita. Pero hindi naman siya nakikialam," he said.

He also added that Salvador and his mom have already met and they are okay.

"Okay naman sila, steady, they’re doing good. Basta okay naman. Sobrang happy ako, sobrang blessed ko na lahat ng parte ng buhay is coming together. At it’s a journey… and kasama kayo sa journey na yun," he said.
