The rumors stemmed from a photo Garcia posted on her Instagram account that showed her in Tokyo Disneyland with Gil and his siblings.
During the grand presscon of ABS-CBN's Mira Bella Tuesday night in Garden Loop at the ABS-CBN compound, Gil admitted that he met Garcia that time in Tokyo but it was purely for work.
"Nagkita kami sa Tokyo. Nandun siya for show, ako for vacation lang," pep.ph quoted the young actor as saying. "Kasama niya ang boss niya. Sabi niya sa akin, since nandun daw ako, gusto ko rumaket na rin, kasi bukas may show sila sa gabi. Sabi ko… siyempre babayaran na rin kami, sabi ko sa mom ko, ‘Why not? Daan na rin kami diyan.’ May pang-shoppping pa ako."
He also said that after Tokyo, he and the actress, who is 5 years his senior, have only seen each on rare occasions in ABS-CBN's Sunday variety show, ASAP, where he is a regular performer.
"After nun, wala… minsan pag nadadaan lang sa ASAP, that’s it," he said.
He hopes his talking about it will end the rumors.
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old revealed that he still doesn't have a girlfriend.
"Wala pa talaga. Siguro when the time comes, dun ako magko-commit. Pero lovelife, loveteam muna saka yung work na ginagawa ko. Pero pag dumating talaga, siyempre open naman ako diyan," he said.
Gil stars as one of Julia Barretto's leading men in Mira Bella. It premieres on Monday, March 24, taking the timeslot of Annaliza, which ends this Friday.
