Lance Raymundo's face crushed at gym, to undergo reconstructive surgery

Lance Raymundo met a gym accident on Wednesday, March 19, that crushed his nose and middle face.

The statement relased by his mother, Nina Zaldua-Raymundo, said that an 80-pound barbell fell on the actor's face at the gym.

"The person who was assisting him on his workout accidentally dislodged the barbel on top of Lance's face when he leaned forward," the mother said.

He was immediately brought to a nearby hospital and is now scheduled to undergo a couple of major reconstructive surgeries.

"Lance will undergo 2 major reconstructive facial procedures. The first one tentatively set on Tuesday, March 25 and the next approximately 2-3 weeks after, and the doctors gave assurance that Lance's face will be 100% restored."

Raymundo's mom also thanked those who had been saying a prayer for him.

"Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my son, please continue to pray for his wellness. Lance would personally thank everyone who has been sending him good wishes through SMS, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Each and every message is being read to him, but he is unable to respond he is advised not to strain his eyes."

He will be back to the projects he left behind as soon as he recovers.
