Miss China Ji Dan Xu slipped twice during her evening gown walk at the Miss Universe 2012 Preliminary Competition. But it wasn’t the biggest slip of the night.
Miss Guyana Ruqayyah Boyer had the worst slip during the evening gown walk as she went down on all fours at the end of the runway which elicited collective gasps from the audience.
She, however, stood up and continued walking as the audience cheered her on.
Other contestants do fall on purpose to get attention and to create enough noise. I’m not saying that Miriam Quiambao purposely did that when she competing but it definitely worked for her advantage as she landed 1st runner-up. (She actually could have brought home the crown if she didn’t ask the judge to repeat the question during the Top 5.)
