Of all the eight official movie entries to the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Sisterakas topped the box office results on Christmas day, the festival’s opening day.
The comedy film topbilled by Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino and Ai-Ai de las Alas reportedly grossed P39.2-million on first day alone, beating out the other entries which include the fantasy Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote At Si Ako which only ranked second with P29.5-million.
The Enteng Kabisote franchise often drew more crowd in the previous MMFFs. But then I think the comedic powers of Vice Ganda was more appealing to Christmas day moviegoers.
Meanwhile, One More Try which stars Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban came in third with P13.6-million closely followed by Shake Rattle and Roll in the fourth place with P10.5-million.
If the trend continues, it will be such a big success for Vice, Kris and Ai-Ai who co-produced Sisterakas. But do you think Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote At Si Ako could still top the box-office results in the coming days?
