Heart Evangelista and Geoff Eigenmann will again be paired in an upcoming soap by GMA-7.
Titled Forever, the series is set to be shown in the network’s Drama Rama Sa Hapon block and it will be Heart’s first afternoon series.
It’s not the first time for Geoff, though, since he last starred in Kasalanan Bang Ibigin Ka? which aired from June to August of this year.
Heart, meanwhile, was last seen in Luna Blanca Book 3 but before that, she and Geoff worked together in Legacy.
The two former ABS-CBN stars were also paired while they were in the Kapamilya Network, and their team-up in 2004’s Hiram was quite a hit in making the televiewers kilig.
But since they can’t use a “love angle” in promoting the upcoming afternoon series (we both know that Heart is in a relationship with Sen. Chiz Escudero and Geoff with fellow Kapuso star Carla Abellana), I guess the success of Forever will now be based upon the script and the acting skills of the cast. And, of course, we’re pretty sure Heart and Geoff will be as effective as the roles they have done in the past.
Also in the cast of Forever are Gloria Romero, Isabel Oli, Saab Magalona, Marc Abaya, Candy Pangilinan and Gian Magdangal. The plot is reportedly set in the 50s and that makes me wonder if its the new trend on GMA-7. Take note that Indio, their biggest and most expensive series to date, is a historical drama set in the 1500s.
Here’s hoping that the network will be successful in taking us back in time this 2013. If there’s something to look forward to in these kinds of production, it would be the costumes and the set. And I’m pretty excited.
