Vice Ganda and Ryan Bang touched the hearts of “It’s Showtime” viewers on Thursday with their production number for Magpasikat Week, an annual tradition of the program where the hosts outdo one another in production numbers for the show’s anniversary.
The song they performed, which was composed by Vice, has a message on equality. They were joined on stage by Epey Herher (That’s My Tomboy winner) and other guests that included children with physical disabilities.
It was a simple prod, far from what people thought Vice would do, but the meaning moved a lot of the audience, including the other hosts to the show, to tears.
“Sinulat ko ito hindi para magpaluha. I want us to feel good about ourselves, to feel that we are so blessed,” Vice said about the song.
The winner of Magpasikat Week will donate their prize to a chosen charity.
Meanwhile, the comedian was emotional when he talked about his recent absence from the show due to being hospitalized, hinting that his Magpasikat performance will be his last.
“Meron kasi akong pinagdadaanan na hindi ko naman puwede sabihin sa inyong lahat,” the “Praybeyt Benjamin” star told the madlang people.
In a recent interview, Vice said that he put his throat surgery on hold because he wanted to perform in Magpasikat Week, postponing it until after the show’s 5th anniversary special.
