Liza Soberano wants to be known for her talent

With the finale episode of "Ikaw Lamang already aired on Friday, fans of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, not to mention fans of director Cathy Garcia-Molina, are already excited.

"Forevermore," which will star the LizQuen love team and directed by the box-office director herself, will take the timeslot left by "Ikaw Lamang" beginning Monday.

The trailers have been exciting viewers not just because of Enrique and Liza but also because of the Benguet sceneries that are very refreshing to the eyes.

This is the first big role for Liza and she's quite lucky to have Cathy as a director, who, while known for being strict, is also famous for how she takes the best out of every actor she works with.

"Marami kaming talagang natututunan sa kanya kasi parang gusto n'ya maging perfect, she wants every little detail to be correct," Liza said about the director during her guesting in "Aquino & Abunda Tonight," adding that their facial expressions, gestures and way of talking don't go unnoticed.

The young actress, meanwhile, showed maturity when she talked about how she'd like to be seen by showbiz fans, saying she doesn't want to be just another pretty face.

"Ang impression ng tao 'pag maganda, puro ganda lang. Para sa akin ayoko po 'yun 'yung mangyari sa akin. Gusto ko 'pag dumaan ako, pag nakita ako ng tao, gusto ko 'Ah si Liza Soberano 'yan, 'yan 'yung magaling umarte, magaling kumanta.' I want to be known for my talent not for my face," she told host Boy Abunda.

But is she pressured to be compared to other Kapamilya teen actresses like the Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Barretto who were launched as actresses before her?

"Ang pressure kasi para sa akin is against myself. I don't see it as a competition. Hindi po 'yung parang gusto ko silang higitan or anything," she said. "I want to prove something for myself, not against them."

Liza plays a small town girl in "Forevermore," while Enrique plays the role of a rich kid who literally fell into Liza's care, based on a scene from the trailer which you can watch here.

Also in the cast are Joey Marquez, Zoren Legaspi, Lilet, twins Joj and Jai Agpangan, and Marissa Delgado.

"Forevermore" airs beginning Oct. 27, right after "Hawak Kamay" on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida.
