Bret Jackson is now mending a broken heart after his short-lived romance with Andi Eigenmann didn't work out.
The two dated after Andi broke up with Jake Ejercito, which was caused by the viral photos that show Jake kissing another woman. The actress, though, said they were already going through tough times even before the pictures appeared.
However, Andi and Jake were seen together again, eliciting rumors that Bret is already out of the picture.
James Reid, a good friend of Bret, was asked about Andi and Bret on Tuesday after the story conference for "Para Sa Hopeless Romantic," his new movie with love team Nadine Lustre.
So, has Andi and Bret really stopped dating?
"I think so. Bret doesn’t tell me too much about the reasons or anything, but I know Andi has been through a lot of stuff right now. It’s really a complicated time for her so I think they're just friends for now," James told Push.
Aside from the viral photo of Jake, Andi also had to deal with the recent death of his father, Mark Gil.
"They just saw each other in two months and I think Andi is just going through a rough time so he is giving her space," James added.
When asked if Bret is hurting, James answered: "Siguro… He’s my best friend so I know if he’s feeling good or feeling bad even if he doesn’t say it."
