Valerie bested 25 other beautiful candidates from around the Philippines. The Filipino-German beauty will represent the country at the Miss World 2014 pageant which will be held in London on December 14.
The former "Pinoy Big Brother" teen housemate and "Eat Bulaga!" co-host was among the crowd favorites. She also got a dozen special awards including Best in Swimsuit, Best in Fashion Runway and Best in Long Gown.
Valerie received P1-million in cash as part of her prize. Each special award, meanwhile, comes with a P25,000 cash prize.
Runners-up included Lorraine Kendrickson (1st Princess), Nelda Ibe (2nd Princess), Nicole Donesa (3rd Princess) and Rachel Peters (4th Princess).
Part of the 13 semi-finalists were Ina Dominica Guerrero, Christine Balaguer, Kristine Angeli Estoque, Alexa Kirby, Priscilla Kimberley dela Cruz, Kimberly Anne Sarreal, Kimberly Pajares, and Gazini Christiana Ganados.

The pageant was hosted by Janine Gutierrez, Mikael Daez, Tim Yap and Miss World 2011 1st Princess Gwen Ruais. It had a delayed telecast on GMA-7.
