Valerie was crowned on Sunday, October 12, at the Mall of Asia Arena by no less than Megan Young, who brought honor to the country by winning the Miss World crown last year, the first-ever for the Philippines.

It's surely a big pressure for Valerie to do well in Miss World 2014, considering Megan's success, but she's quite ready to bring it on and give us our second victory.

"I will be the best that I can be and show them how amazing we are, we Filipinos, how hardworking we are, and how much we deserve this... to get the back-to-back win," the "Pinoy Big Brother" ex-housemate told GMA News.

Dedicating her win to her parents, she said they are her number one supporters and also the ones who keep her grounded.

"From Day One, they were always there for me, and they always told me, 'Val, stay kind and humble, and never forget others,'" Valerie said.

The Filipino-German beauty was among the crowd favorites during the pageant. She even won the most number of special awards that night including Best in Swimsuit, Best in Fashion Runway and Best in Long Gown.

Let's hope and pray for Valerie's success in the upcoming Miss World 2014 which will be held in London on December 14.

Good luck, Valerie!
