The love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla had just turned 1 year old and the two were very thankful to the ‘KathNiel’ fans worldwide for making their tandem successful.
“Thank you very much for supporting ‘Princess and I’ every night. We are so grateful to everyone who loves us,” said Kathryn and Daniel who both believe that their fans were the ones who made all their accomplishments for the past year possible.
Kathryn and Daniel were first paired last year in the youth-oriented show Growing Up. Since then, their love team became a sensation and it paved the way for major endorsements and more projects for the two of them.
They are currently seen in the hit primetime series Princess And I, which has recently surpassed the rating of the phenomenal Walang Hanggan. Last Friday, August 31, the royal teleserye became the No. 1 most-watched TV program in the country. It’s the series’ third time on top but the first two times were shared with Walang Hanggan. Last Friday was Princess And I’s first time alone at the No. 1 spot.
Kathryn initially thought their tandem wouldn’t work when they were first paired. “We’re both moreno. It’s so unusual,” shared Kathryn. “That’s why it somehow became a challenge for us that made us exert effort for the viewers to appreciate our team-up.”
But Daniel considers Kathryn as his lucky charm for the past year. “I received a lot of blessings since Kath and I were teamed-up,” said Daniel who was recently given a platinum record award for his top-selling, self-titled debut album. “It seemed that every great thing in my career happened because I was with Kathryn.”
Daniel has also been very vocal with his admiration for Kathryn. But can the fans expect their friendship to evolve into a romantic relationship anytime soon?
“Let’s just wait and see,” Kathryn said. “I’m not allowed yet to enter into a serious relationship since we’re still both young.”
Meanwhile, the real identity of Mikay (Kathryn) as the Yangdon princess in Princess And I will soon be revealed. How will Mikay accept the fact that she was the missing princess? Will Ashi Behati (Gretchen Barretto) be punished for being the mastermind of the ambush of the queen that led to Mikay’s disappearance from Yangdon?
