Renato Corona, who was voted guilty by the senator judges on May 29th, released a statement.
20 out of 23 senators found Corona guilty as charged of Article 2 of the Articles of Impeachment that refers to the filing of SALN. Corona was accused of concealing some properties and cash deposits in his SALN since 2002.
According to the statement that was signed at Pasig City on May 29, 2012, Corona knew the president would use the full force of the government, including agencies such as the Kamara, BIR, LRA, AMLC, and Ombudsman, to remove him from his position.
