American Idol 11 finale was all suspense and excitement but the scene stealer of the night did not come from the season’s top two but from two of the finalists of the previous seasons.
Ace Young, season 5 finalist, stole the show when he proposed to Diana Degarmo, season 3 runner-up, right on the Idol stage.
“This has always been a home to us and I felt that this would be the perfect place to ask her a simple question,” Ace told host Ryan Seacrest, who, in turn, asked Keren to dim the lights.
Ace kneeled in front of a teary-eyed and very surprised Diana and gave her the ring.
“I love you to death,” Ace said, his voice quivering. “You’re my bestfriend. I wanna make this last forever and I would do anything in my power to have the most imaginable and amazing life together if you will have me. Diana Nicole Degarmo, will you marry me?”
All Diana could do was nod and the two kissed to seal the engagement.
