2012 Cannes International Film Festival – List of Winners

The 2012 Cannes International Film Festival has just come to a close and the festival winners have been revealed.

Austrian film Amour was declared Best Film, while Carlos Reygadas of the Mexican movie Post Tenebras Lux won Best Director.

None among the Hollywood celebrities who joined the festival won, and that included Brad Pitt (Killing Them Softly); Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron (The Paperboy).

Here are the winners of the 2012 Cannes International Film Festival:

Palme d'Or (Best Film): Amour (Austria) by Michael Haneke
Grand Prix (Runner-up): Reality (Italy) by Matteo Garrone
Jury Prize (Third Prize): The Angels' Share (Britain) by Ken Loach
Camera d'Or (Debut Film): Beasts of the Southern Wild (U.S.) by Benh Zeitlin
Best Director: Carlos Reygadas, Post Tenebras Lux (Mexico)
Best Screenplay: Beyond the Hills (Romania), Cristian Mungiu
Best Actress: Cosmina Stratan and Cristina Flutur, Beyond the Hills
Best Actor: Mads Mikkelsen, The Hunt
