Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert were declared Best Actor and Best Actress respectively in the grand finals of Artista Academy dubbed as Awards Night held live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 27, 2012.
Vin made quite a noise for being the brother of Kapuso hunk Aljur Abrenica, but proved during the competition that he also has the talents needed to make it in showbiz. He was dubbed as the “Singing Hunk of Pampanga.”
It was live exam time again for Artista Academy’s Top 6.
The girls acted separately with veteran actor Tirso Cruz III. It was a piece where the daughter confronts her father about his affair with another woman.
Chanel Morales was so pretty it’s not hard to look at her act. It was so obvious, though, that she was trying hard to let her tears fall. Shaira Mae, on the other hand, needs a little help in delivering her lines. And the one who shined was Sophie Albert, and all four judges – Mac Alejandre, Gelli de Belen, Lorna Tolentino and Wilma Galvante – agreed that she gave the best performance of the night.
The boys were so lucky because they acted opposite the superstar Nora Aunor. Vin Abrenica was okay, but his anger seemed forced. The judges liked his performance, though, especially the last part where he cried. Mark Neumann’s accent, meanwhile, was a little off in the role of a poor boy who meets the mother who left him in the trash can when he was a baby. But other than that, he gave a heartfelt performance. Akihiro Blanco was for me the night’s best actor. His delivery was natural, suppressed in a good way. He didn’t overact.
The Live Exam was topped by Sophie Albert with 93% from the girls and Vin Abrenica with 94% from the boys.
Next week, October 27, is the awards night of Artista Academy where a Best Actress and a Best Actor from among the Top 6 will be hailed. It’s going to be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum and admission is going to be free.

The Honor’s List of 6 of Artista Academy recently attended the Esquire Ball held at the Shangri-La Hotel Makati on Tuesday. The event is in celebration of Esquire Philippines’ first anniversary.

The Final 6 of Artista Academy has been named. From these six, the Best Actor and Best Actress who will win a combined total of P20-million in prizes will be picked.
Last week, the Top 2 Boys and the Top 2 Girls were named. Vin Abrenica and Akihiro Blanco from the Boys, and Sophie Albert and Chanel Morales from the Girls were announced safe.
Four hopefuls were eliminated from the competition during the recent Artista Academy Kick Out episode.
After their Hong Kong trip last week, one boy and three girls didn’t quite make the grade to stay in the competition. Alberto Bruno, Marvelous Alejo, Nicole Estrada and Stephanie Rowe’s chances of winning the P20-million grand prize have just ended.
Brent Manzano was kicked out of TV5’s Artista Academy on September 3, 2012. He got the lowest combined scores from the live exam, grades from Asian Academy of Television Arts (AATA), and text votes.
Brent, who recently admitted that he used to join male bikini contests, cannot continue anymore his journey towards winning the competition but he is already a contract star of TV5 just by making it to the Top 16.
Jon Orlando was kicked out from TV5’s Artista Academy on August 27, 2012.
The Filipino-Italian from Canada was eliminated for getting the week’s lowest score, which is the average of his grades at the AATA, scores from the Live Exam, and the text votes.
Chris Leonardo was eliminated from TV5’s Artista Academy on August 20, 2012.
Chris was the first to get the boot from the Top 16 but as Wilma Galvante said, his training in the Asian Academy of Television Arts will continue. After all, each one of the Top 16 are already Kapatid talents.
We’ve seen the Top 8 Boys of Artista Academy, now let’s take a look at the Top 8 Girls who will vie for the Best Actress title and the much-coveted P20 million.
Our prettiest is a toss between Sophie Albert and Nicole Estrada. Chanel Morales and Shaira Mae both look as sweet as candy.
TV5’s Artista Academy has recently revealed its Top 16 last Saturday. From the thousands who auditioned at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, they are now down to the top eight boys and top eight girls who will vie for the titles of Best Actor and Best Actress and the much-coveted prize of P20 million and the fame that goes with it.
The top eight boys include Vin Abrenica, the brother of Kapuso hunk Aljur Abrenica. They may not look so much alike but the Machete-like features connect them together.
The Top 16 of Artista Academy, a TV5 talent search, has been revealed. From thousands who auditioned, the competition is now down to its final 16 from where the Best Actress and Best Actor will be chosen come grand finals.
The top 16 are mostly from Metro Manila. Only two got in from the Visayas, also two from Central Luzon and one from CALABARZON.

Artista Academy is coming soon on TV5, and with the young fresh faces that they posted on their Facebook page during the auditions, I’m sure the show will be a hit among reality show watchers.
From the previously announced 16-21 years old, TV5’s Artista Academy has made a little adjustment to the age bracket of the auditionees.
TV5 says: “Due to numerous requests, ngayon puwede nang sumali ang contestants from 16- 22 years old! Kaya ano pa ang hinihintay mo? A total of 20 million pesos is at stake! Mag-audition na ngayong Tuesday, June 19, 2 PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.”
TV5 will be holding auditions for its newest reality show titled Artista Academy on June 19, Tuesday, 4 PM, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
