Akon talks about Jessica Sanchez

Akon gave his two cents on why Jessica Sanchez almost got voted off in American Idol 11.

The singer and music producer said that the Filipino-Mexican teen was overqualified and so full of talent that she gets overlooked.

“They naturally assume that she’s been voted for because she’s so good,” Akon told E! Online during the 2012 Latin Music Awards. “So they choose to vote for someone else to kinda even the balance and she’s not getting the votes.”

Also, as the host put it, people thought that she’d always survive eliminations because she’s a favorite so they don’t vote for her anymore.
