Miss Universe 2012 1st runner-up Janine Tugonon confessed on Kris TV that she and boyfriend Jaypee Santos have broken up over an argument that involved The Script vocalist Danny O'Donoghue.
Janine said she and Jaypee watched the band’s concert here in Manila at the Smart Araneta Coliseum where she met the foreign singer during the meet and greet.
She said she and Danny agreed to follow each other on Twitter, where the Irish performer eventually sent her a direct message. The beauty queen also revealed that he now texts everyday but that doesn’t mean they were already a couple.
“Actually hindi naman kami ni Danny. Nagtetext siya everyday simula noong nag-concert siya dito,” she said.
During the meet and greet where they first met, Danny asked her if she had a boyfriend. And she was honest in telling him she had.
“Pinakilala ko nga siya (Jaypee), kasi tinanong niya (Danny) ‘do you have a boyfriend?’ Sabi ko ‘yeah that's my boyfriend.’”
But what led to the breakup of her relationship with Jaypee was the fact that he was mad over her constant communication with the international singer.
“Sabi niya (Jaypee) kung ayaw mo talaga sa taong yan hindi mo siya kokontakin,” she said.
With their argument came her decision call the relationship over, saying that she needed time to think. And Jaypee said he respects her decision.
Janine and Jaypee had been together for one year.
