Paolo Onesa showcased his rich vocals through a relaxed performance of James Morrison’s You Give Me Something during the second Live Show of The Voice Of The Philippines on Sunday at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.
He got the highest percentage of votes within Team Bamboo with 46.37%, and was the first to be declared safe.
Coach Lea Salonga was all praises and didn’t say anything bad about his performance and his coach, Bamboo Mañalac, described him as a crooner.
“Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, ‘yan ang genre mo,” Bamboo said. “At ang ganda na ‘yun ang nahanap mo sa sarili mo dito sa show na ‘to, e… This is where you belong, that’s the sound you belong to. This is the best I’ve heard you sing that particular song.”
Paolo beat fellow team members Isa Fabregas and Angelique Alcantara. Eventually, Coach Bamboo had to let go of the early favorite, Angelique, over the worship leader, Isa.
