Megan Young, the Philippine representative to the Miss World 2013 pageant, is reportedly facing disqualification due to her topless photos in Rogue magazine’s March 2012 issue, of which the actress was also the cover girl.
Megan is one of the frontrunners in the beauty pageant, which will have a new winner crowned on September 28. She’s in the Top 10 of the pageant’s Top Model competition, and in the Top 11 of the Beach Fashion finals.
Aside from that, she’s also one of those who got a 30-second spot to showcase her native dance during the coronation night as she’s one of the finalists of the Dances of the World.
But how could a topless photo, which was artistically done and didn’t even show her whole chest, be a hindrance for her quest to the crown?
According to International Business Times, Megan’s topless Rogue photos got the ire of the pageant’s fans.
One anonymous letter sender even said that rules are meant to be followed and that Megan violated some of them for having posed topless.
Well, let’s hope that Megan doesn’t lose her desire to win because of this issue. This controversy could only result to two things, anyway - either break her chances or make her become more favored for the blue crown. Let’s wish for the latter and pray that Megan becomes the first Pinay Miss World.
Good luck, Megan!
