Paul Salas says Ella Cruz is his bestfriend

Paul Salas guested in Boy Abunda’s “Ikaw Na” segment in the late night news Bandila on Tuesday. His eyes revealed that he’s already sleepy but he gamely answered Boy’s questions.

Paul, 14, is one of today’s more popular teen stars. His fan base even widened when he was put to star in the fantaserye Aryana and was paired with Ella Cruz. When asked if he was threatened when Dom Roque was included in the cast, Paul said he wasn’t. He even revealed that he was actually happy because it was his first time to be in a love triangle. “Natutuwa po ako na nae-experience ko na may comparing,” he even added.

Meanwhile, he also said that he and Ella are bestfriends. And what does bestfriend mean to him? “Ibig sabihin po no’n parang sisters, brothers, pero hanggang do’n lang po,” he told Boy.

He refused to answer the anchor’s question on what his edge is against the other teen stars of today. Paul instead said that they are just equal, with each of them doing their best to reach their dreams.

Son of the 90s Universal Motion Dancers (UMD) member Jim Salas, Paul has been in showbiz since he was six. He started with joining GMA-7’s StarStruck Kids in 2004 and although he didn’t win the competition, he has continuously been doing soaps since then.

His popularity boosted, however, when he transferred to ABS-CBN in 2008. His biggest break on television so far is being cast as one of the lead characters in Aryana, which airs weeknights before TV Patrol.

The series has been one of ABS-CBN’s top-rating shows and Paul thanked the viewers for their support. “Maraming, maraming salamat po sa pagsuporta ng Aryana at sana po suportahan pa rin po nila kasi mahaba pa po ‘yong mga istorya at marami pa pong mangyayari.”

He is also seen Saturday nights in the sitcom TODA Max where he stars opposite Robin Padilla, Angel Locsin and Vhong Navarro.
