Chris Cayzer, the Filipino-Australian who made it to the Home Visits of The X Factor Australia, failed to make it to the live shows. He was among the three who got eliminated by judge-mentor Guy Sebastian from the Over 25s category.
Guy started by saying that Chris has improved, adding “I can honestly say that you have well-earned your position here.”
During the initial audition, Guy was the only one who said “no” to Chris. His obvious dislike for the contestant showed in the ensemble round where he said that there’s a certain ceiling that Chris can’t get through.
Chris might have felt that bad news is coming when the judge-mentor continued talking, saying, “But I guess, could I win this show with you?”
It could’ve been the saddest moment for Chris when he heard Guy’s final words to him: “It’s been really tough for me. But I have my decision and Chris, unfortunately, I’m gonna have to send you home today.”
Chris Cayzer sang Elton Johnn’s Tiny Dancer in front of Guy Sebastian and guest mentor Alicia Keys during the Home Visits round in New York City. Watch his performance here: Chris Cayzer sings “Tiny Dancer” during home visits in “The X Factor Australia”
