Phil and James Younghusband were so happy that they were able to speak to David Beckham. Phil confessed that he was starstruck and James couldn't help but reminisce the time when security would stop them as young players of Chelsea trying to get near David Beckham.
Aly Borromeo even flew back from the US just to be "in the same pitch where Becks and Landon step on."
As for the December 3 game, the Azkals would like to score a goal against the football superstars. Phil even said that they often joke about what celebration they're going to do if that happens. "But often when you do that you don't actually score," Phil said. They will just make sure they score first and then they will think of the celebration.
Chieffy Caligdong, on the other hand, told the media that he wouldn't sleep anymore if he would be able to score a goal against the Galaxy tomorrow.
David Beckham confessed, though, that they play to win. "We know that there's some talented players here and we expect a very difficult game," the former Armani underwear model said, but added, "We always try to fight diplomatic football but that doesn't always happen. We wanna win."
It was already late when the Azkals began their practice this afternoon. The LA Galaxy had the Rizal Memorial Stadium almost the whole day as they held a football clinic for the young Pinoy athletes and had an open practice after that.
Those who will watch the game at the Rizal Memorial Stadium tomorrow will surely be treated to a great game. I'm sure it will worth every peso they spent for the tickets.
