Yesterday Today Tomorrow has been disqualified in four major award categories at the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) due to some violations.
Regal Entertainment changed the script and the cast from what was submitted to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said that the MMFF entries were approved based on the script that was given to them earlier this year.
In Yesterday Today Tomorrow, though, what came out on theaters was different from the script that was approved. Even the actors were different, and that only the title was retained.
As a result, MMDA disqualified the movie from the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Gatpuno Villegas Cultural Award categories.
The 2011 MMFF awards night will be held tonight, December 28th, at Resorts World Manila.
