Enteng, topbilled by Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai de las Alas, has been predicted to do well even before the festival started. With the combined cast of two top-grossing films (Enteng Kabisote and Ang Tanging Ina Mo), plus the combined box-office charm of Vic and Ai-Ai, the family movie raked in P38.5 million on Christmas Day alone.
Considering that the school is off for another week and December 30 (Bonifacio Day) and 31 (New Year's Eve) are non-working holidays, not to mention January 1 is a Sunday, would Enteng surpass the ticket sales achieved by the Praybeyt Benjamin which is the current highest grossing Pinoy film of all-time?
Or would Enteng even hold its top position in the 2011 MMFF category in the coming days?
Below are the rankings of the MMFF films based on the first day ticket sales, as tweeted by @itsmekrisaquino:
- Enteng ng Ina Mo - P38.5m
- Panday 2 - P20m
- Segunda Mano - P18.25m
- My Househusband - P17.33m
- Shake Rattle and Roll 13 - P15.9m
- Yesterday Today Tomorrow - P10.1m
- Asiong Salonga - P3m
