According to team coach Pharrell Williams, he paired Amy and Madi because of their "delicate" voices.
Immediately after Pharrell made his decision to drop Amy off his team, coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton pressed their buttons to steal the Fil-Am singer.
During the Blind Auditions, Blake had been wanting Amy in his team and he reminded the lady crooner about it.
"I remembered begging. I believe you are a star. You are still one of my favorite artists who ever auditioned for this show ever," Blake said.
Adam, on the other hand, was the only coach who didn't turn for Amy during the Blinds because he didn't have any spot left in his team.
"During the blind auditions, I thought: 'Wow this girl can win this whole thing and I didn’t have the chance,'" the Maroon 5 frontman said. "But now, I feel I know what to do to really help you thrive. I believe you can win this whole thing."
Amy eventually chose to move on to the live Playoffs with Team Adam.
