Alden Richards launches 'Wish I May' album to a jam-packed crowd

Alden Richards got emotional seeing the jam-packed SM North EDSA Cinema 11 for the launch of his "Wish I May" album on Saturday, October 17, 2015.

Fans reportedly arrived at the venue as early as 6 a.m. in hopes of getting good seats. Not all of them, however, were able to get inside due to the cinema's limited seating capacity.

The Pambansang Bae sang tracks from the album, including his cover of Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud," a song that he is often seen dubsmash-ing to in "Eat Bulaga!'s" #KalyeSerye.

He also performed "How Great Is Our God," a song that he himself chose to be part of the album being a devout Catholic boy that he is.

He also did his version of Bryan White's "God Gave Me You," the song that has become one of the themes of #KalyeSerye due to the "kilig" he brings everytime he uses it to dubsmash to Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza).

But unlike weeks ago when he sang it live on the noontime show, he was able to finish performing it without sobbing.

Produced and released by GMA Records, "Wish I May" is Alden's second album. It has turned gold (meaning it has sold at least 7,500 units) even before it became physically available in stores. The heartthrob received the gold record award on "Eat Bulaga!" on Saturday, hours before the official launch happened.

This is such an achievement for Alden as well as "EB," the one responsible for his current level of popularity.

Meanwhile, his debut album under Universal Records released 2 years ago turned gold just last September, 2 months after his tandem with Maine was formed.
